Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is the next step for an individual who is continuing their care after completing a program. At Bright Futures Treatment center IOP clients will be attending groups three to five nights per week and meeting with their individual therapist once per week. All groups that our IOP clients are attending are led by a licensed therapist.
During groups and individual sessions clients will focus on Relapse Prevention, stress management, dysfunctional beliefs and thinking, and family dynamics. Clients will learn to identify their main triggers and what are considered high risk situations for them. Once clients are able to identify these triggers and high risk situations they can use that knowledge to develop tools to help them stay away from these possible relapse situations.
For most addicts and alcoholics within the first 6 months of being clean and sober they will experience Post- Actuate Withdrawal Syndrome, commonly referred to as PAWS. During this time clients can experience insomnia, anxiety, mood swings, fatigue, depression and hostility. Unlike many other Intensive Outpatient Programs, our clients will have full access to our psychiatric doctor. Our doctor will help clients manage their PAWS symptoms and assist them with medication management.
Clients in IOP will be encouraged to obtain employment. For some, this can be nerve wracking and stressful. Here at Bright Futures Treatment Center our team will be there to give assistance every step of the way. Clients will meet with our case managers to build their resume, and job search. Our case managers also assist clients in prepping for interviews. Interview prepping includes mock interviews, verbal skills, appearance preparation, time management, and what to bring. This helps our clients feel prepared and confident going into the interview. After a client obtains employment our vocational team will ensure they have to necessary paperwork needed to start their training.
Integration into 12 step programs
Working a 12 step program, along with continuing groups and individuals, helps our clients be successful in obtaining long term recovery. While in IOP clients will be encouraged to choose a sponsor in the 12 step based fellowship of their choosing. Clients will also pick a group to make their home group at this time. A home group is important for clients to start to build an additional support network outside of Bright Futures Treatment Center.
What separates our outpatient rehab center from others?
Bright Futures Treatment Center follows a twelve step model of recovery. This includes group therapy sessions by our experienced clinical staff. Our clients are able to freely and openly express their feelings, emotions, and experiences. They have no reason to fear judgment or repercussions. Letting go of those thoughts and moving on is an important step in the inner healing process of recovery.
